Well, maybe there wasn't any singing. Although I can't imagine Ryan going for an entire Tesco trip without at least a verse of "Twinkle, Twinkle".

Have I ever mentioned how stir crazy the twins become when they don't get their daily trip out ? In fact, mostly they get taken out for a shopping trip in the morning and a walk in the evening. This is a great plan, except on those days when it chucks it down with no sign of an end. Never mind, it's over now.

In other news my Christmas present buying is almost completed due to the joys of on-line shopping, although I'm still missing an advent calendar. Anyone know where to get a decent non-chocolate advent calendar ?

And Final Fantasy X-2 now has a release date. It's 13th February 2004. Yippee !

Yesterday I had a dental check up. This translated into a great day out.

Christmas shopping, pregnancy stories and a rather nice meal )

Today I'm due to meet [livejournal.com profile] angry_marmot and [livejournal.com profile] cuthbertcross's cousin Emma at Waterloo. Assuming we recognise each other of course.

Bloodshed

Our small patch of grass is now covered in white fur. White cat and white-and-grey cat had a fight at about ten o'clock this morning. White cat won.

Gangland boss Emily Marle was in the middle of her morning nap (or so she claims).

An article on the BBC Newsite says that Saruman's key scenes have been cut from "Return of the King". I assume they mean he will not be appearing at all.

I'm sorry. I'm not particularly upset to lose the Shire scenes, but the business with the palantir will be missed.

The episode in Monde. )

Any comments/additions appreciated.

Stand off

[livejournal.com profile] bateleur is trying to train Ryan to feed himself without anyone holding his spoon or arm.

Ryan is trying to train [livejournal.com profile] bateleur to feed him without Ryan himself having to hold the spoon or participate beyond opening his mouth.

Any bets on who will win this one ?

And zandev wins the candy nicking award ! )

But at least I stole more from [livejournal.com profile] secretrebel than she did from me.

Last night I passed a rather damp set of trick or treaters. Fortunately none have called here yet. [livejournal.com profile] bateleur loves them and I don't, so I prefer him to be in when they call. I've made sure we're well stocked with mini chocolate bars for the occasion.

It's been a quiet few days. )

Besides the usual house jobs, I have had time to finish Final Fantasy (the original).Probably for FF fans only )

The next few days could well be rather busier. Physiotherapy, Dragonblooded and Frax )

Now I'd better to switch to CBeebies, before Beatrice explodes.

And it was another exciting morning at the baby clinic.

Baby Weights )

In other news, not much is happening. I've finished editing book two and I'm now waiting for my editor (i.e. [livejournal.com profile] bateleur) to have time to re-read it and give me a final set of comments. I've moved on to drawing the Gibbard family tree to go with it (which will be useful as a cast list - after the various Mourn's Gift comments I received), but it's not exactly an urgent task. I'm also building up a set of ideas for book three, but I have some way to go as yet.

Finally, I'm starting to draw up Christmas and birthday lists. As ever, the twins will get something which doesn't take up too much space in our little, cramped house.

Yesterday the twins returned from their holiday of pampering.

And the grannies still love them )

Having got them back I finally stopped chickening out of arranging a "Mother and Toddler" group for them. The result ? They're on the waiting list of the two closest - both run at nearby schools. The woman who runs them reckoned that they should get in by Christmas and I feel happy that I have nothing more to do myself in the meantime.

And one final bit of news for anyone who hasn't heard - the arrival of Peter Joseph Tomkins at 01:56 on 4th October (Libra) weighing 8lb 1oz (3.67kg).

I finally finished the painting. Yesterday [livejournal.com profile] bateleur and I covered all the walls, today I applied a second coat where needed and painted the few spots that had been missed.

And I'm pleased with the result )

Apart from the decorating we've been watching the first season of Alias for the first time around.

And rather good it was too - with spoilers )

All in all, it's been a good week.
lathany: (Housework)
About half of the bedroom is now wallpaperless. Despite not starting until lunchtime. The rest should follow suit tomorrow.

In between breathing in a horrible steamed gluey smell I've been continuing to edit my second book (now named "Roland vs Sophie") and I've nearly finished. Plus doing the usual LJ checking of course.

And this evening should be great as we're going for dinner with [livejournal.com profile] cuthbertcross and her LJless partner Rob.
lathany: (Default)
On Friday we packaged up the twins and their stuff and drove up to Cambridge to drop them off with Granny Jo and J-J.

And Saturday morning we went shoe shopping )

The Yeung Sing )

The second reason for choosing the Yeung Sing was its proximity to Nottingham - our tourist location of choice for the weekend. Two tourists in Nottingham )

[livejournal.com profile] bateleur has now retrieved all the bedroom decorating equipment from the shed. This means that I ought to be getting on with the whole "repainting the bedroom" task. One the other hand, maybe I'll start first thing tomorrow...
lathany: (Default)
Last night [livejournal.com profile] chrestomancy and [livejournal.com profile] angry_marmot came round and had dinner with us.

They got to eat food and everything )

Today I'm preparing for the week of twinlessness. Packing clothes, bottles, nappy changing stuff and buying in extra supplies of food jars and nappies has pretty much taken out my day.

But, the end result will be great glorious.
lathany: (Housework)
Cleaning up cat sick was never a fun job.

However, today, I found out how much worse it can be. Beatrice decided that the (fortunately child-locked) disinfectant looked like an exciting new toy.

Beatrice doesn't love me anymore.
lathany: (Default)
...you have nightmares about being pregnant with another two.

<shudder>

Only ten days to go.
lathany: (Mousing)
From [livejournal.com profile] triskellian, the author list :

An amended list of ten authors )

And, in other news, the twins love chocolate pots too.
lathany: (Twins)
They date from Easter to the present day.

For anyone interested : click here. Gallery 5 is the new stuff.
lathany: (Default)
Today I started the much-delayed task of sorting through my old clothes; working out which I might wear again (almost none of them) and which I was going to put in the charity/recycling bag.

They all seemed strangely small )

Must take the twins out for a nice walk to the recycling bins.
lathany: (Twins)
It was Beatrice's hearing test today. The one she was supposed to have at ten months. However, first she was tested too early (due to the whole "really being three months younger than she is"), then she caught a cold and had blocked ears and finally we missed an appointment due to me double booking with the physiotherapist.

And little bighead hated every minute of it )

So just the physiotherapist left.
