The final window today was a Christmas Tree.

I was working today for the first Christmas Eve in years (and possibly decades). We wanted some cover and I wasn't planning to travel (actually, probably no-one else did in the end, but hey). I worked a short day; it was wonderfully quiet (only two emails actually sent by a person also working) and no meetings at all. I got things done. And I revelled in the lack of emergencies.

Window 22 was a toy boat.

Today we wrapped presents and I finished the Christmas cake. Dom braved Tescos for the Last Shop Before Christmas (we hope). Reeve slept (mostly).

The window today was a birdhouse... again.

I've made a chocolate cake for Dom's birthday. It's always a slightly fragile cake (it works on egg whites), but worthwhile. And Dom has interesting (other) food plans for dinner.

Today's window was a mouse.

Yesterday was the team quiz. My team had an appalling start, but eventually recovered a little. We were much better at the films round than the news round. One of my team mates does well in quiz rounds about goats (which says a lot about some of the work quiz themes) but we didn't get one of them.

Today's window was a pair of chickens.

It's been a rather dark day and things are still very busy at work.

Today's window was probably a baby bird in a bird house. Probably.

Over the weekend I watched Broken Arrow with Bea. I really like that movie and it's aged quite well.

Today's window is a magpie.

Today I did the Post Office run for the abroad post and general Christmas stamps. The queues today were really impressive.

Today's window was a fox.

I suspect my weekend will involve quite a lot of card writing and perhaps a trip to the Post Office. In other words, December moves on.

Today's window was a child looking out of a window.

It's been a rather foggy day here. I prefer the sunshine even when it's freezing.

Today's window was a bird house. I'm sensing a theme here.

Also, Dom was woken up by Reeve charging into the room and meowing loudly. Not for breakfast, but for a cat fight. Because, if you're going to have a fight, it's better to do it from a warm windowsill rather than out in the cold near the other cat.
