Now, back to that Swordsmaster stuff.

Well, yet again I have no idea where most of my friends live. With the arrival of the twins I have had little opportunity to visit them, and we seem to have lost half the addresses we did have. I foresee another email requesting location information approaching (just as soon as I finish the actual card pile).

Fallen Star stuff - promised to be dull for non-players )

On a completely different note, having read the BBC news site, I agree with [livejournal.com profile] venta. "The Foster Affair" is really, really dull. Whatever happened to proper news stories ?

Another Swordsmaster session, another attempt on the life of Lord Roland...

More about Roland's lucky escapes )

Ryan and Beatrice, of course, were present for most of the session. Dom built a large Ryan-barricade next to the fridge to give him a large crawl area and let him loose. It seemed to work rather better than the smaller crawl area had during Dom's game. Krys ended up feeding Bea her milk.

My play-by-email game, Fallen Star, has reached day six. Whilst the ship appears to no longer be sailing the rivers of Hell, the PCs reckon that they are still a long way from Norway. The number of people in the infirmary and locked up continues to rise. As does the "missing persons" list.

In real-world news, my editing continues. Sixty-five chapters completed. I should be finished by the end of the year - with luck.

Beatrice has made the first move down that path which leads to the first "twin's possessions fight". She tried to take Ryan's milk bottle after she had finished her own breakfast. Needless to say she wasn't successful, not least because Dom stopped her very quickly. However this is a sign of things to come.

Fallen Star has finally been processed. The turnsheets have gone out, the web pages have been updated and the new mailing list has been sent out (hopefully all the players can see it). I'm back in the (mostly) quiet period again before the next turnsheet deadline.

Plus, it is Halloween. We got our first set of trick-or-treaters last night and Dom gave them smarties.

After a Monday of "good babies", today saw Ryan revert to his usual screaming/whining/playpen shaking form. How Bea can sleep with him screaming next to her is a mystery to me. At least she has the big teddy bear to hug.

In other news, Fallen Star processing continues and Georgia gave me a few physiotherapy tips for Beatrice.

Yep - it's quiet around here (now that I've switched off the baby monitor, anyway).

Well, both [livejournal.com profile] nevecat and [livejournal.com profile] bateleur have written up timely accounts of Thursday evening, so I'll stick with saying that I enjoyed it. As did Ryan and Bea (someone new to play with !).

Friday brought Frances for pizza and garlic bread. We compared planned holidays and discussed Fallen Star.

Gratuitous Fallen Star stuff )

Saturday was bridge with [livejournal.com profile] bateleur, [livejournal.com profile] ealuscerwen and Bella (who used to work for me). Again my tardiness with Live Journal means that the other two have written up accounts to which I have little to add. I really enjoyed it, though it brought back to me (with full force) how naff low-point hands can be whilst playing rubber bridge. I also drank too much nice white wine (the bottle has disappeared, so I no longer know what sort it was) and not enough nice vanilla coffee (from Hawaii). Both were brought by [livejournal.com profile] ealuscerwen.

Sunday marked a rest and much Time Splitters 2, which I love - 'cos it has a two-player co-operative mode. I also finished my Diablo 2 : Lord of Destruction character (a sorceress). Plus I continued with my current not-so-short story (which I will finish after the current Fallen Star processing).

We finally have a date for Bea's physiotherapy. Two dates in fact. The first was late January, so I whinged (politely) about how I expected an earlier appointment. I spent several days sulking to be rung again and offered a late November date. So we should have a first appointment before the approaching double-sized birthday.

Both grandmothers are looking forward to the twins' first birthday. One granny-present has already arrived and the other one is planned. And Dom keeps saying "jelly !" and other kids party related things. The twins themselves will be completely indifferent of course - still too young to know what it means (apart from much attention and food).

All-in-all, life in the Camus household goes on...

Clinic Day

And the weights were :

Beatrice - 18lb 14oz (8.58kg)
Ryan - 18lb 3oz (8.27kg)

Both were slightly chilly and I will have to wrap them up better next time.

Today also marked the start of my Christmas shopping with the purchase of two packs of Christmas cards. I hope to do a bit more when my parents come over and babysit.

Fallen Star appears to have gone down rather well - certainly the reaction was the one I was expecting. Four or five more turns to go...

Fallen Star is finished and will go out tomorrow. I enjoyed sorting out that last set of turnsheets - it will be interesting to see what the players think they should do now. Next on to Athory for this weekend's game.

Ryan and Beatrice seem to have coped with my computer-heavy day. Particularly now that Ryan has figured out how to stand down.

I just have Dora's Diary to write, then everything is complete. I can put the web pages up this evening, then send the turnsheets out. So long as it all does go out today, I am still on schedule.

In other news I am waiting for the Ryan-cage (sorry, Playpen) to arrive. Bloody ParcelForce. They either wait 'till I'm in the shower, washing up or feeding a baby.

There are things that I hate starting a new week with. Beatrice's nightmare nappy moment is one of them. I will avoid the details, but suffice to say it took the best part of twenty minutes to deal with. It is at times like these that I wish I had decided to remain childless.

Now I am working on Fallen Star processing. The deadline is tomorrow - when I must return turnsheets and put up the new web pages. I am not yet ready, but should make it in time. Will the Chief Engineer be found ? What happened to the lights in the corridor ? And will these be the least of our heroes problems ? Another twenty-four hours and those questions will be answered. Possibly.

And Final Fantasy X ? On hold until I finish with the Fallen Star's cream tea event.

The new, more mobile, Ryan is proving to be a major hazard. He's "helping" with Beatrice's nappy changes (read trying to up-end the dirty nappy bag and tipping the water bowl) and finding all manner of new things to brain himself on. I remember the good old days when the babies stayed where you put them. Beatrice is still leave-able; although her rolling is getting faster and wider ranging.

My Fallen Star processing has started and I have finished a write-up of the snooker competition. Runner-up was a bit of a surprise (to me at least). However I suspect that the winner will be very smug about it all. I now have to move on to the Cream Tea event.

The autumn is shaping up to be busy, role-playing heavy, and (occasionally) twinless. Right now, the last of these makes me the happiest. However I suspect that the doting grandparents will be less keen to babysit once they've had the "nappy change with Ryan" experience. Although I'm ordering a playpen (which will double as a boxing ring) to help ease the moving-baby problems.

Christmas looks like becoming a military operation. Already both sets of grandparents are asking about possible needs for the holiday (should we buy two second hand cots ? How about a twin pushchair, or will you bring yours ?) There is a need to draw up strategies to ensure the transportation of two weary parents, twins, babystuff, luggage and presents to Cambridge and the above plus additional bonus presents back to Feltham. If we drove a removal van instead of a car, things would be rather easier. Fortunately, neither set of parents puts particular store of when we are around, so we will escape the problems many other families have concerning "whose turn is it to see the grandchildren for Christmas morning/day/dinner ?" There is also the small matter of present-buying, but I'll worry about that nearer the time. Probably. OK, I'll start thinking about it now.

Also the double-birthday at the end of November looms. This year it will be more of an event for the grown-ups than the sprogs and I will personally be celebrating the anniversary of surviving labour (the memory of which has not faded, despite the claims made by my Twins-class leader). In future this will become two birthday parties every year from playschool onwards, with a fight to see who gets the actual day (or the closest weekend). Reminds me of my own childhood really (Martin and I have birthdays just four days apart - with our mother's in the middle).

It has gone eerily peaceful in here. I had better check where Ryan is.

I have now drafted all the Fallen Star turnsheets and web pages. I will send it out either tonight or tomorrow morning.

It was an interesting set of first turnsheets - rivalry over the few single women on board has already begun. Also, there is a hint (or two) of trouble. The question is whether the players will track it down or ignore it for as long as possible.
