lathanyAnother Swordsmaster session, another attempt on the life of Lord Roland...
The High Summer Festival of Masks often doubles as an opportunity for the assassins of Carnival. This year was no exception. Money had been paid to remove the Duchess Catrina (NPC), the Lord Yarrow (NPC) and Lord Roland (Chris Fox). None of these were successful due to the intervention of the PCs (Lady Bryanna was mostly responsible for saving the Duchess, Taronus was responsible for Lord Yarrow and Heleth helped Roland to survive). Although Roland was a lucky, lucky man when he chased one of the other assassins (Catrina's) and they failed to realise who he was (particularly after he took a triple in the stomach with a critical "Unconscious and 4 AP injury" - a 19 in other words).
The party are making friends of the people they save and enemies of those they save them from. Plus the party is facing a difficult moral dilemma :
Should they be saving lives if they are placing themselves at risk to do so ? Alternatively, should they ask other NPCs to put themselves on the line helping ? (See![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

The PCs are also racking up a fair number of party invitations, some of which don't even include assassins. Heleth (Liz) has a dinner date with Lord Haverel next session. Possibly.
Ryan and Beatrice, of course, were present for most of the session. Dom built a large Ryan-barricade next to the fridge to give him a large crawl area and let him loose. It seemed to work rather better than the smaller crawl area had during Dom's game. Krys ended up feeding Bea her milk.
My play-by-email game, Fallen Star, has reached day six. Whilst the ship appears to no longer be sailing the rivers of Hell, the PCs reckon that they are still a long way from Norway. The number of people in the infirmary and locked up continues to rise. As does the "missing persons" list.
In real-world news, my editing continues. Sixty-five chapters completed. I should be finished by the end of the year - with luck.
