Hell Bound

I didn't like it very much. Perhaps this is because I'm not interested in seeing either James Marsters or Amy Acker undressed. Perhaps it's because I'm really not a horror genre fan (and I had a Hell Bound-inspired nightmare last night that I can still remember too vividly). Buffy's first season was more in this line (both Witch and Teacher's Pet had X-Files style endings) and I enjoyed that but, maybe my tastes have changed, maybe the dialogue's slipping a little (the "we thought he might be hellbound" scene lacked punch, although Gunn's aside about Spike appearing in the toilet was brilliant), or maybe I'm still prejudiced in favour of the Buffy cast. Whatever the reason was - I didn't enjoy it.
The explanation for why Spike was slipping towards Hell would have been OK in any other building... but the idea of W&H not knowing about the Reaper was distinctly implausible (although I guess there still remains the explanation that they pretended not to know). Keeping Spike as a ghost seemed OK (although his new powers were too Ghost).
Eve was still unjustified (please let there be a decent reason for her replacing Lilah), Gunn and Fred seem to be finished (or am I wrong ?), and there are still characters (Wesley and Lorne) who have had b*gger all to do so far (despite being four episodes in). The lack of Harmony was a plus though.
I hope next week is more enjoyable.

I've enjoyed this series so far, although that may be because I'm a huge fan of the Fanged Four, so any Angel-Spike interaction makes me happy. I do agree with you that the other, established-in-Angel characters are being neglected in favour of Spike, but I think the situation starts to improve, and by the stage I'm at, each of the other characters has had time in the spotlight.
I'm not liking Eve, either, but my main hope in the plugging-holes department is that they pay some attention to Cordy, and that we get a bit more clarification about what exactly they all think they were doing for the last <insert period of time here> if they've forgotten Connor.
