Stud Elephants

bateleur and I went into Staines to do a bit of shopping.
We were supposed to be shopping in Oxford, following a night attriskellian and smiorgan's. However the snow put a stop to that :-(. So instead it was Staines and the Two Rivers shopping centre.
We started with HMV. We found a "three DVDs/CDs for £20" offer that we liked the look of - my choice was Bourne Identity which we haven't seen yet. I also hunted through the computer games, but found no particularly good offers. Seems like I'll be buying the Neverwinter Nights Collection from Amazon (and probably after Final Fantasy X-2).
I needed a new watch strap so looked round for an open jewellers (at least one has shut due to the rebuilding work). And I found one, with a lovely set of elephant stud earrings (they have to be stud if I want to wear them around the twins - all my drop earrings are "twinless" occasions only). I now own aforementioned earrings (and nearly bought the whales and turtles as well). I also made comments (far too unsubtle to be categorised as hints) about what I wanted for my next birthday when I spotted some of the emerald earrings on offer.
Next it was on to Marks and Spencers. I had recently relocated a set of vouchers bought for the twins (from Unclechrestomancy for Christmas 2002 - oops !) and I wanted to spend them before I lost them again. Their range wasn't brilliant but, after a while, we found things we wanted to buy. So my daughter now owns a skirt (for the first time ever !). It's all summer wear; a yellow top and green skirt for Bea Katrin (to expand upon her mostly purple wardrobe), and an orange top and blue trousers for Ryan "I even look good in a sack" Blake.
Finally we visited BHS (some black cotton trousers for me) and then Thorntons (chocolate fudge !). Finally, back to the car (the guy manually lifting the barrier appeared to have been replaced by machinery) and home again - still with snow on the car.
Today I must do some of the things I planned for this week. Shelves and picture hooks perhaps. On the other hand I might wuss out and content myself with sorting out their bedroom.
