Back at the baby clinic, the twins were put on the scales :

Ryan - 10.24kg (22lbs 9oz)
Beatrice - 10.95kg (24lbs 2oz)

And each were given a National Condom Week balloon (un-inflated).

OK, I know that the medical community considers it wise to start certain forms of education younger than in my day, but this is a bit ridiculous, isn't it? :)

I think it's a great idea. A baby carrying a condom week balloon really makes the point - if you don't wear a condom you could end up with one of these...

All we need now is a t-shirt for mothers saying 'I forgot my condom and all I got was this lousy baby'.

Trouble is, babies are too good at looking cute in public.

What you need is National Condom Week nappies... Hmm, but then the target audience mightn't see them. Well, the plan needs work, but you get the idea !

And when they're old enough to understand it, you show the child a picture of his or herself as a baby wearing that T-shirt, and scar them for life.

It could have been worse, knowing the kind of freebies *some* places get given;
You might have got balloons with the number of the local clap clinic on them!

My dodgiest aquisition in this vein was a pen in the shape of a pessary, with the imaginative name "Vagifem" on the side! Mmmmmmm.....
