Xmas Pudding Recipe

Can anyone recommend a good Xmas pudding recipe? Preferably rich and alcoholic? About the only thing I know(/think I know) is that they are supposed to be cooked/prepared a good three months in advance. Oh, and I'm not an experienced cook - this may be relevant.

(Give me another couple of months and I'll be making a similar request for Xmas cake!)

My dad has a fab recipe, but I don't know where he keeps it and he and his cookbook are not currently in the same place anyway... if you haven't one in a couple of weeks I will ask him to find it. He does have a Mrs Beetons I can access I think, and we must have a Pru Leith recipe for christmas pud - except sometmes here recipes are a little showy. I still haven't got round to making her 3-day Game Pie....
