Today's picture is a robin. Walking to and from the station today I noticed that about a third of the houses obviously have Xmas decorations up already. The tree at Waterloo went up some time last week - it wasn't there on Tuesday, but was by Friday.
I'm finally choosing which work Xmas meals to go to this year. I remember the days when there was just one. And I miss that. I've been invited to three and I'm going with two - one I want to attend (the immediate team) and one because it's been incorporated into an awayday, so is really hard to miss.

Woman walking a dog
Dec. 2nd, 2018 06:28 pmThe second window is a woman walking a dog. This advent calendar has turned out to be adding magnified detail to the winter background picture.
Today we put up the Christmas decorations. I may post a picture of the tree at some point. The duo decorated the house, although Ryan was more enthusiastic than practical and several pieces had to be moved because of the likelihood of causing problems (such as the low hanging tinsel over the stairs). Luckily for us, Reeve has never been particularly interested in the tree - although that may change now I've typed it.

Kingfisher
Dec. 1st, 2018 05:23 pmI have a December tradition of trying to post on every day in the month. I rarely get all the days (particularly if I'm away at any point), but I tend to get most. This year I plan to put my posts on Fbook as well as other social media (the tradition is from LJ).
Today's advent calendar window was a kingfisher. Not very Xmassy, but the calendar is a winter scene and the windows, to some extent, are trying to fit with that.
My main job of the day was to produce Ryan's birthday cake. It's now finished, other than candles (and Dom did the coloured icing).

I weighed myself this morning. Turns out I've actually lost a tiny bit of weight this month. This is not entirely surprising as I had mild cystitis until Christmas (I finally went to the doctor last Monday and got some antibiotics) and so was cutting back on alcohol and, to a lesser extent, sweet things.
Still feels very weird though.

This is Carter - chosen for me by
bateleur and the twins.

She's named after a The Secret World character.
Today has been a good day. Christmas dinner all came together as hoped, I've been playing my new Final Fantasy CD of battle music (with thanks to
quisalan) and I've been for a walk. I'm a bit headachey now - but it was worth the cocktails.

Today is the first day for ages when I didn't have to do anything. So I've been pottering about playing computer games and have bought myself Dreamfall Chapters (which was briefly reduced in price).
I also did a bit of The Secret World Christmas / New Year event. He's a screenshot of my character taken during that.

My rewards included a carrot nose and a holly broach.

It was
bateleur's birthday today. We spent the day at Kew and wandered Holly Walk and the Tree-top Walkway. One odd thing - Palm House made me feel very ill, we thought I might have a reaction to some plant or pollen.
I made a coffee birthday cake when we got back. OK, we've plenty of cake in the house already, but it wasn't birthday cake.

Christmas tree
Dec. 19th, 2014 10:33 pmAnd I'm done. My last day went smoothly.
bateleur's parents arrived and we all had a good evening.
Best of all - no necessity for 6:30 starts for a while.

Christmas pudding
Dec. 15th, 2014 09:26 pmAn odd start to the morning - my train was slightly late and half of it was missing. However, once I got on, it decided to skip the second half of its station list (with a warning just beforehand) so I arrived at about the usual time (although standing all the way).
The day itself went OK. It's my last week of work this year, so is all about getting the last few bits and pieces processed. As usual, there's plenty of scope for extra things to pop up. As for train reading - I've not quite finished Harry Potter but because I had a full bag, today was Eight Days of Luke.
