Today was new shoes day. Last October, in Cambridge, we bought the twins their first pair of shoes each. Both were 5F, although Ryan was obviously borderline because the shop also tried a size 6 on him. They were Clarks shoes (hence the F fitting) and had little "First Shoes" written on them.
Today we wheeled them to the little shop in Feltham which does Clarks shoes and had them remeasured. Ryan had become a 6 and I asked them to try on a pair of the same type as his last ones (called "Rummy") as he seemed to like them. Bea, on the other hand, was now a 5-and-a-half and, given three shoes to pick from, promptly made her own choice. Consequently, a bright red pair with a butterfly on each (called "Flutterbuys") was purchased. These too are called "First Shoes".
Hopefully they'll last until autumn again, 'cos kids' shoes are expensive.
I seem to have another cold. I feel like I've spent the entire month being ill.
