One very late Angel review.

I have very few nice things to say about this episode. I didn't like the Wolfram and Hart video sequence at the start and I didn't enjoy the Harmony-related plot. This leaves very little.

The main trouble with the storyline is that I failed to believe that Harmony was really in trouble. Despite obviously having a secret enemy I was never given the impression that her enemy stood a chance. About the only decent moment was making the dead body the interpreter for the important truce, and that was hardly a stunning surprise. On top of all that, there were no funny one-liners.

And... when did Harmony get a soul ? She seems as morally normal as Spike or Angel. Vampires sure ain't what they used to be.

Harmony was *never* an evil vampire. I think the way I look at it is that harmony's stupidity overruled her evilness. She is amoral and would (and has) quite happily killed people but she doesn't feel the driving urge to be evil because she is just too stupid to come up with plans. :)

And the only good thing about the wolfram and hart opening video was the rference to weyland yutani being one of their clients. A brief web search revealed no references to this company apart from them being the corporation in the Aliens films.

not a great episode but I liked some of the funny moments. I'd certainly happily consider it as one that shouldn't be part of continuity because it was just silly rather than good as such. The piling of bodies in the store cupboard for example was funny.

Maybe I watched it differently to you because I didn't really catch the obviousness of the secret enemy and indeed only had the surpise of who the victim was spoilt by the tivo description. Perhaps you need to be more mindless like me to appreciate it. :)

That is indeed who Weyland Yutani are. My INC character worked for them...

I don't know - I thought the part where Harmony and her wannabe rival menaced each other with disposable chopsticks was quite amusing, and actually, felt this episode hung together far better than some of the previous indulgent messes (e.g The One with the Blonde Female Werewolf).

The episode grew on me. At the start I was rather dubious, but as the bodies piled up and the chopsticks came out, I rather started to enjoy it :o)

Harmony isn't good or evil, she just has no morals, which I quite like as a character concept. She'll be your friend one minute and happily stab you in the back the next when a better offer comes along.

My take on Harm was this: the thing about Harmony is that she's too shallow, and always has been, to actually be evil. The vampire thing brings out the evil side that people keep strictly oppressed. Harmony was just too stupid to actually have a lot of repressed evil stuff; therefore, she's morally ambiguous but not actually evil.
