Box 3

This is a dark blue crate, with a pile of papers flowing out of the top. Inside are a couple of consoles with assorted games, although not all of them are in the right boxes.

Further down is one of the Settlers family, a "chocolate cookery" book, even more paper - this time covered with graphs, a mobile phone (battery dead) and a temperamental laptop.

Box 4

Back to the wooden chests... this one is made of ebony and lined with thick purple velvet. There are a number of scratches on the handle, but you have to look carefully to see them.

Inside is a large range of fiction from this year's Booker shortlist to a collection of children's "school years" series'. There is also a small Lara Croft figure, a fountain pen, half a bottle of red wine, a tobacco tin (which you decide to leave unopened) and a blank tax return.

Box 5

The last box is a Victorian hope chest, in the process of being renovated. Inside a dark red silk scarf has been put in as a temporary lining.

There is a collection of speculative fiction books, some Sandman graphic novels and the complete Winnie the Pooh. There is also a tin of home-made cookies, a toy ball with a bell inside and a broken modem.

Well, I was going to keep my guesses to myself so [livejournal.com profile] triskellian wouldn't growl at me, but actually I don't have a clue for any of them.

Though 4 might be <mumble mumble>.

You could email me, if you like ;-)

I won't growl ;-)

I only know one of them at first glance - number two is [livejournal.com profile] secretrebel. Although I'm a bit concerned that without Lara, it could equally be me.

I would have added a cookery book if it were. And a tub of icecream.

number two is secretrebel.

That's what I said:

<mumble mumble>

:)

Though the scratch marks confused me, and made me wonder about killala (does she still have the long nails these days?)

Oh, great, you can tell us apart by asking if we're more interested in food or Lara Croft, but not otherwise ;-)

I could also tuck your Monde character book into a tear in the box lining at the bottom ?

So I won't lose it again?

I was beginning to wonder about [livejournal.com profile] chrestomancy for 3.

Nah, it's clearly [livejournal.com profile] cardinalsin.

Number 5's the toughest, but now [livejournal.com profile] lathany's told me who it is I can spot more of the clues in retrospect !

Are not what they used to be, I'm afraid. Too much of this newfangled typing! (Also, no tobacco (or other such items) for me! Not so much the wine, either - it's rum or nothing these days. ;)

I assumed it was you for that reason, plus the battery-less mobile phone.

But you're right, on reflection its probably me :)

Well, I assumed that you had some weird graph fetish that you share with [livejournal.com profile] lathany and not with me.
