I rather liked this one. There were a number of obvious flaws (for example, the flashback looked Just Wrong; the only good moment in it was spotting "Holland Manners" on the business card), but it had a sort of "early episodes" (ie. Buffy S1-3 and Angel S1) feel to it that I liked. Plus it served to underline the removal of Connor from the history of Angel Investigations and produced a timely reminder of the content (well, as much as we ever get) of the Shanshu prophecy.

The dialogue was good, but nothing struck me as outstanding. The pinning of the demon was a lovely scene and probably the most memorable of the lot. And I liked hearing about the advances that Gunn (etc) have made inside Wolfram and Hart for good. Also - it's the first episode where I realised that Angel himself is the only one of the old gang without an obvious role in the firm.

In other news Final Fantasy X-2 is on its way to me. I'm currently considering whether to replay X before starting on X-2. Plus I still haven't played V of course. But first, I need to finish Summoner.

X-2

Eh? There's probably a whole saga behind this, but what was wrong with calling it XI?

It does almost make sense.

Traditionally, the Final Fantasy series has had no sequels in that they all have no story or world continuity between them. Thus they are separate games (though with a similar style) and are numbered. This was fairly easy to understand.

It has now gone a bit odd. X-2 is the sequel to X. However, Final Fantasy XI, which it would clash namewise with isn't part of the normal series at all, and really should have been called Final Fantasy Online.

Even more confusingly, Final Fantasy XII (which is part of the main series) is apparently set in the same world as Final Fantasy Tactics on the GBA (which isn't part of the main series), which itself is a completely different game to the original Final Fantasy Tactics on the Playstation.

Coming soon (hopefully in March), is Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles on the GameCube, which is also not part of the main series and is multiplayer, with GameBoy Advances as controllers.

Clear now? :)
