Speaking Out, Stropping and Sleeping Arrangements

Ryan and Bea came back from the grannies yesterday. Apparently (ie. I've still not heard them) they have a number of words each.

Beatrice : Eyes, Ears, Mouth (but she can't manage "Nose")
Ryan : Thanks, Ball (Plus "Upper Abover" from before)

On the one hand - I'm really pleased to see them. On the other - they've gotten used to all the attention (two grandparents = one each). And all the biscuits.

This morning was spent watching them taking turns at having an almighty strop. With luck they should get over the change by the end of the week.

Last night also saw the start of the new sleeping arrangements. Ryan got the cot bed. Beatrice got the bottom bunk. Within moments, Beatrice made it clear that she didn't like this new arrangement. She obviously loved her cot, even with Ryan in it. I'm hoping she'll start to get used to it quickly. And hoping that she's not going to spend all her time climbing out of bed and then sleeping on the floor.



Back to normal. Probably until May.

Although - there are certain types of revelation I feel I'd rather not face.

Finding out that they started sentences long ago, for example.

or that every night they whip out the toddler-sized whiteboards and re-enact Pinky and the Brain (a show that I devoutly hope has made it to Europe).
