Emily Marle is getting smarter.

Today she recognised the signs of the vacuum cleaner coming out before I pressed the "on" switch. Give her another eight years and she might come to realise that it isn't actually a cat-eating device.

Then again, maybe not.

Baby Zoe does an amazing all-over-body shiver when the vaccuum cleaner gets turned on in her vicinity, followed by incessant ear-splitting screams until the offending instrument is turned off. Let us have dirt!!
I don't think Emily is going to evolve *that* much, though, given her genetic stock....
