Review - Angel

Well, Angel ended with what was probably its best season finale ever (although To Shanshu in LA runs a close second).

Welcome back Lilah ! OK, she's dead. But I'm hoping that this won't stop her being around next year. Lovely offer too. Not least because it was pretty clear that neither Angel or Wesley would have taken it without the Connor-flavoured extenuating circumstances.
Speaking of Connor, I enjoyed the way in which he was removed from the series. No nasty death or banishment, instead Angel arranges to give him the thing he complained he never had - a loving family. He's due back in one episode next season but, given that might be a flash-back, this may mark his departure. It might have been more appropriate to make him a baby again, but, I guess that would have stopped them from bringing him back ever (after all, they've already done the baby -> adult in one season thing).
Otherwise the Connor part of ending was the weakest bit - meaning the whole strapping people to dynamite scene. In contrast, the Angel Investigations explores Wolfram and Hart was really impressive. There were cliff-hangers of course. Such as Cordelia - who will she be when she wakes up ? And Gunn - what was he offered anyway ? And as for Wesley doing his Mission Impossible bit; it was absolutely wonderful all round.
I'm not looking forward to the addition of Spike next year, but the rest should make it well worth watching.
Life outside the babypen goes on. I'm off to Stratford tomorrow to see Measure for Measure with
chrestomancy,
smiorgan,
triskellian,
ao_lai and Frances. Whilst inside the pen things the snail is playing and there are some cheerful burblings accompanying it.
