That Review Thing

Well, Buffy and Angel are drawing to a close. Both episodes were continuations of the final arcs of the series', but enjoyable in their own right.
End Of Days
Well, a nice episode although not really a stand-alone in any sense. I liked most of the "character" scenes (Anya and Andrew playing wheelchairs was especially good) which was as well, because the action side was fairly bitty. No-one really got to do much (take the bed-ridden Faith, for example), but you could feel them being shuffled into position. Plus Caleb died - which was a decent surprise, as I had expected him to be around next week.
Plus, of course, we get Angel back. Interesting the way he and Buffy simply resumed where they had left off - as though neither Spike nor Cordelia had ever existed. However, it is pretty clear that this won't last. And, finally, I wish Sky One would stop their spoilering. They're far more likely to upset the fans who were already planning to watch it than to tempt viewers who weren't.
Sacrifice
The gang drop into the sewers and just happen to find the demon that was sent to our plane to cast a spell on Jasmine. Co-incidence is a wonderful thing sometimes. Fred and Gunn had, yet another, angsty conversation ending in violence. Otherwise, not a bad episode, a little change of direction and another world to visit (didn't they do that in season two ?)
Will everyone survive the fight back in LA ? Or will the producers use it to remove the characters they have run out of plot for ? I'm looking forward to the end, hopefully it will be a double dose in a fortnight's time.
Well, my days of Buffy reviews are almost over. I'll miss it. Probably.

Date: 2003-06-08 07:45 am (UTC)I hate that too. E4 do it so much with Friends that you've practically watched the whole episode before they show it.
