Today I tackled the lawn. It had grown rather high and I had been putting the job off for a while. A hour and a half of mowing and trimming later, however, it was looking much neater and shorter. OK, it isn't going to win any "neatest lawn" competitions, but I'm still pleased with it.

But now my mouse hand has stopped working properly...

Haven't you got the twins doing the garden chores yet? Start 'em early, that's what I say.
("No, Ryan, you can't have a rusk. You did that border all wobbly.")

"Good." said Ryan. "I hate rusks."

Imagine...

...playing Quake 3 (or similar) using a Flymo for mouse actions.

Come to think of it, that's just what my flymo is missing - a row of buttons that let me change weapons quickly with my left hand.

Is your mouse hand the same as your writing hand?

Nope. I'm one of those left-handed people that uses a right-handed mouse.

Umm- doesn't everyone use a righthanded mouse irrespective of which hand they write with? Common terminals usually have it in the righthanded position, and these things, once learned, are a b**ger to unlearn.

No, they don't. One of my staff uses a left-handed mouse and I believe [livejournal.com profile] venta does too.

If you have a symmetric mouse, you can get the computer to reprogram the mouse buttons so that they work the other way around and use it on the other side of the keyboard. Otherwise left-handed ones are available. I can use these when I'm working at the machine of someone who has it set up left-handed and I adapt rather more quickly than my right-handed colleagues. However, I prefer the traditional set-up.

My apple keyboard has a USB connector on either side so I can use a right handed or left handed mouse or even two at once. Of course this ia on a Mac so there isn't as much relevance to the position of clicky mouse buttons.

Well done to you for mowing the lawn though. Every time I've tried to get outside to do that it's started to hail. Yes, *hail*. (I think this is a sign the housemates are meant to mow the lawn while I'm at Badgercon. ;)

My Mac mouse has two buttons and a scroll wheel like any other self-respecting mouse ;-)
