lathanyTwo good episodes last night, both moving the season plot along.
Never Leave Me
The episode followed on from Sleeper (effectively making it part three of Conversations With Dead People). Buffy deals with Spike (how many people have been chained/tied up to date ?) whilst the gang fix the house (if it was "The First", then how did it get damaged - was it all Dawn ?). Some good scenes and appropriate Star Wars quotes from Andrew. A nice appearance from "The First"'s goons (which I gained a smug point for recognising). The stuff with the Watchers Council was great and I was sorry that they effectively bombed any further Council plot out of existence. The scenes with Principal Wood look promising though. I would have liked more Giles, but you can't have everything.
Habeas Corpses
Again, this followed on directly from Apocalypse, Nowish with Cordelia regretting the events of the night (big surprise) and the rest of Angel Investigations looking the worse for wear. Seeing the Big Bad take out Wolfram and Hart (minus the not insignificant senior partners and Liliah) was impressive. The zombies were an interesting touch, hopefully a future episode will confirm which of the suggested reasons (side effect of Big Bad or Wolfram and Hart magics) was the right one. The "evil Red Riding Hood" kept the plot elements going with her explanation "the answer is among you"; nicely done and bringing the focus back on the creation of Connor (is this thing the "vampire" part of Darla and Angel ?). Also the scenes between Lilah and Wesley were nice - but will she follow meekly in Lindsey's footsteps ?
In other news, Bea's physiotherapist is pleased with her progress and has said that she will stop her visits completely when Bea starts walking (although this is some time off). Ryan is starting to get rather wound up by her, though. She arrives, ignores him, and "plays" with Bea for an hour. Under the circumstances he was reasonably well-behaved, only a few outbursts occurred.
Finally, I have a cold. A non-flu cold.
