The short version is that it's a point-and-click puzzle game set in 1987 by people who worked on those sorts of games back then (eg. Monkey Island). It's a deliberate, aware and fun throwback with a decent plotline and highly recommended to anyone who played point-and-click adventures back in the eighties and nineties.
