Last night we went to see the Kempton Fireworks. We go every couple of years and, last time, it wasn't as good (poor sound quality, bad location, etc), so we were a bit apprehensive. However, it turned out to be a good year.

As ever, I broke out the glowsticks for the occasion. We initially used them so we could keep track of the duo in the dark (we first went in 2006 when they were four), now they are part of the tradition. We allowed an hour to get there (it's usually a fifteen minute drive when there isn't a firework event) and this turned out to be about right. Sadly, there weren't any fresh doughnuts this year, but you can't have everything. The display was really good; it helped that it wasn't raining, it wasn't too cold and we had found a good place to stand. Pretty, intense, massive and with some elephants (marked out in lights) and so remote controlled flames. It was set to various show/circus themes including The Greatest Showman, The Show Must Go On (Queen - I've realised from earlier entries that they usually throw in some Queen unless they do classical, we've previously had Flash and The Invisible Man) and Nellie The Elephant, among others. Also, for once, we escaped the venue in fairly short order afterwards.
