Over the last few weeks, we've seen three films.

Interstellar left me wondering how much physics it ignored, but was rather good otherwise. It had a good concept, some lovely sequences and a decent ending. Admittedly, it also felt a bit long in places and had rather a lot of casualties. Overall, it was a good, watchable film with a good cast.

The Grand Budapest Hotel turned out to be rather more in the speculative fiction (with comedy) category than I'd guessed. Ralph Fiennes is wonderful as the legendary and exacting concierge Gustave H whilst Tony Revolori does an excellent Zero and... frankly the whole cast are good. The story is a lot of fun as well, the scenery is gorgeous and the history seems... almost plausible.

As for The Battle of How Ever Many Armies It Was... well, at least I didn't pay to see it at the cinema. I got lost as to which bad white goblin was which, stopped caring about most of the dwarves, felt a number of the fight sequences were just silly and felt that the White Council really wanted to be in Star Wars. Had it not been called The Hobbit I would probably have enjoyed it a great deal more; as it was, it was simply a way to pass an evening.
