On Friday night, we watched Insurgent (part two of Divergent). I had already read the book and wondered how they would fit it into a couple of hours. The answer is that they removed quite a lot of the character drama and a number of the characters. The result was pretty watchable and got the plot along to roughly where it was supposed to be. As is, sadly, becoming the norm, the last book has been split into two films Allegiant and Ascendant (and I gather that the first of these did badly at the box office and in ratings, the second isn't out yet).

Yesterday, we played Glimmer Scuffles (Alistair's Star Wars game). We are still on Forani and are attempting to end the civil war (through alliances and victories). We spent the first part of the session working out who to ally with and who to attack, plus sending messages. Then we launched an attack on the Legitimatists (lead by two people nicknamed the Berserker and the Bloodsplattered). We took out their command base then intercepted their shuttle and finally, after a difficult fight, killed them (although losing Blaster Glave in the process). This was followed by a huge discussion about the fact we had Force help - Battle meditation - but we didn't know where/who from. We then spent the final part of the session planning our take-over of the Shipyards - which should complete the war part of out effort - due to be carried out next session.
