I've not done this for a while - but here's episode 13.

Summary: Peter tries to persuade the invisible man, Claude Rains, to help him. He follows Claude from the street to the roof of Charles Deveaux's building where he sees Claude has been keeping pigeons. Claude tells him that he won't help and Peter gives up and instead returns to his apartment to pack for a flight away from New York. Nathan goes to see Mohinder and asks him about Peter's condition. Mohinder says that Peter's abilities could be dangerous, but he could study him and find a cure. Mohinder convinces Nathan to take him along in a hunt for Peter. The two of them find Peter in his apartment, just before he leaves. They first try to persuade him to stay, then Nathan threatens to have him locked up. Peter fakes going along with it before running and then apparently escaping from Nathan's back-up through a window. However, instead, it turns out that Claude has been convinced by Peter's story and will try to train him. Claire is frustrated that she is constantly living a lie. She contacts the Haitian and gains a little information about her mother - who died fourteen years earlier. With help from Zack, she traces the story, then tries to find relatives of her mother. Instead she finds her mother alive - with the ability to produce fire from her fingertips. Niki is still in prison and DL is failing to cope as a single parent. DL tells Niki this and she consequently agrees to let the prison psychiatrist speak with Jessica. Micah, meanwhile, brings home money he has used his ability to get out of cash points. Hiro and Ando try to get back to their car, but are instead kidnapped by a bunch of heavies with a van who try and persuade them to return to Tokyo before taking them to the big boss. The big boss turns out to be, not Linderman, but Hiro's father. Matt convinces Janice of his ability, but not the police. On realising that he is about to be fired, he retracts his story and is instead suspended for six months. On returning home, Janice tells him that their marriage isn't over and that she is pregnant. Finally, the tests on Sylar appear to be doing little apart from killing him. Mr Bennett tells the doctor to bring him back to life each time, but eventually this appears to fail. However, Sylar is still alive and kills the doctor after his restraints are removed. He then waits for Mr Bennett to return.

Comments: George Takei and Christopher Eccleston are making this a big guest episode. I enjoyed it, although it'll probably never make my top five of the season. It doesn't feel like much movement happens - there are a number of revelations instead; Claire's mother, Hiro's father and Sylar escaping. On the other hand it has some interesting comments and confirmations - Mohinder describes Peter's condition to Nathan, Matt is now on trial for the failed FBI break-in (rather surprisingly), Micah's ability has some great potential and Hiro's father is a big deal (in fact, first time around, I wondered whether he was also Linderman).

Cast list absences: Simone, Isaac and Ted.

Claire/Zack/Haitian: Again, some great scenes between Claire and Zack. I liked him telling her that she might have an uncle which she was instantly dismissive of (OK, slight spoiler). Also, the Haitian is always great for scenes.

Hiro/Ando: They have some nice lines here: "Why does everyone chase us? Because I'm special. I'm not special and I'm tired of being chased." However, this is mostly one long sequence of chase and capture. The little plus in this sequence being that Hiro goes back for Ando. However, at the end, I'm very interested in who Hiro's father will turn out to be.

Sylar: This does not impress me. Sylar does not have a regeneration ability (he missed Claire, after all) but still comes back to life. I wish TV series' wouldn't cheat with their villains.

Mohinder/Nathan/Peter/Claude: A very good scene between Mohinder and Nathan because of all the tension coming from them being very different types of people with different outlooks and passions. I wish these two would have more scenes together. The interaction between Nathan and Peter reaches its nastiest when Nathan threatens to lock Peter away. The scenes between Peter and Claude promise great stuff in the next episode or two - I was dying to see how the tuition would work out. Also, whilst Peter usually gets a raw deal in terms of sussing out other people, he's very good at Claude here - he catches on quickly to the fact that Claude has trained others. He also makes a lot of fate and of finding Claude both in the first place and on Charles' roof. Finally, that window scene is still great; the construction of this scene means that I really did think Peter had flown out of the window before the truth is shown.

Niki/Jessica/DL/Micah: Apparently the actress was allergic to the prison set and, having watched this again, I can see the signs described in the audio commentary. Not a bad set of scenes and I particularly liked DL coming in through the wall (although, I notice, not the wall with sunlight coming in). Micah and DL have some nice moments as well, but DL is already too fluffy to be that guy who was planning "one last job". Really little movement here, though, as the psychiatrist still hasn't met Jessica.

Matt/Janice: Well, he keeps his wife but almost loses his job. I loved his joy at approaching fatherhood.
