Episode 4.

Previous summary: I wonder how they’ll deal with the train scene - will it be cleverly explained with a link to Peter’s powers? That’ll be a key test of the consistency of the series.

In more detail: This is a really nice "Mr Bennett etc" episode. Questions such as why Nathan gets grabbed at this point get answered in a couple of episodes time, but it's really nice to look at this again and realise there were clues as to why now. Also, I like the fact that the threads are starting to join up.

Character absences: DL and Sylar.

Claire/Zack/Quarterback: Lovely Claire/Zack stuff - he comes across as a good friend without some of the wet that various other "nice" characters have in the way he responds to the attempted rape. Bringing in the other girl to explain that Brody is a serial rapist works in a very effective way. The resolution of the rape - Claire using her powers to take out Brody is rather good too.

Hiro/Ando: I wasn't big on the Las Vegas stuff in this episode as I felt it was rather too black and white (or do I mean predictable?) - Ando prompting Hiro to cheat and Hiro being uncomfortable about it. However, it's another nice demonstration of Hiro's abilities.

Peter/Simone/Nathan/Mohinder/Hiro: One thing I really love about this episode it how it starts to join things up. It's also done with some great use of efficient screen time - for example throwing the scene between Peter and Nathan where Nathan tells Peter about Mohinder (so to speak) in the middle of the romance scene with Simone; each benefit from not being the only thing going on. The stuff with Mohinder struck me as ironic because he has finally met a hero who wants to talk to him honestly about his abilities at the point that he's too dejected to believe it. As for Hiro - the train scene is great and I hope that, one day, we eventually see this version of Hiro.

Isaac/Simone: Umm, yeah, more gloom. Let's move on.

Isaac in painter mode: Getting to see inside his head as he paints the Claire Under Attack scenes is cool. This may be the first time he does the white eyes thing too (trouble is, I forgot to check this time around).

Mohinder/Eden: Not much screen time, but nicely settled as a confidence; he's asking her what to do about Peter.

Niki/Micah: Nicer stuff than some of the previous episodes; they're both good with good material. Plus Micah's revelation that he knows what's going on: "It's safer on the internet" [but, hey, this is Nathan].

Mr Bennett/Haitian/Matt: The Haitian is explained a bit. Plus some good lines from Mr Bennett "I don't work for any organisation with initials". Despite the gentle manner, Mr Bennett is coming across as The Bad Guy [particularly when he and the Haitian go after Nathan].
