A weekend wedding and a donation

Saturday saw
bateleur and I dress up (a bit) and head out to Putney for a certain wedding.
Despite the cloudy gloom of the week, the happy couple were extraordinarily lucky with the weather. The church was picturesque, the vicar(?) was one of the better ceremony conductors that I've come across, the readings were interesting (one from a conversation in a half-way house - I think I've got that right) and the couple looked very happy.
There were a number of people I knew there and chatted to including
lanfykins,
chrestomancy,
chrisvenus, TheHattedOne,
zandev,
glittertigger,
inskauldrak (with shorter hair, but still sounding the same), Dan H, plus, of course, the bride and groom.
In addition,
quisalan was there in spirit as my personal hero for lending me jewellery via her flatmate/landlord. She matched my (then unseen) outfit stormingly.
Afterwards, after begging a lift off
lanfykins, the reception was at the London Wetlands Centre where the guests were given tours of the grounds and TheHattedOne was terrorised by both real and rubber ducks (the latter courtesy of our hosts, perhaps secure in the knowledge that TheHattedOne would not be retaliating on their wedding day). There was also a staggering amount of champagne to drink along with nuts and olives before dinner. Plus
bateleur got a great silhouette photo of
chrisvenus and I playing telescope.
Dinner was good, wine was good, company was excellent and the happy couple looked very, very happy. We finished the evening with some (bad) Scottish dancing before heading back to the station and home again.
Sunday was my eighth blood donation and The Return Of The Duo (it was also the return of
floralaetifica, but she was much quieter). Ryan didn't want to leave the grannies and made this clear. Meanwhile Bea was very interested in Daddy's pocket money schedule. Everything returned to normal.
