My review for this went up on GameFAQs today, less than an hour ago.
The short version is that it is a great strategy game and the expansion provides more variety in monsters and missions. The main flaw I can think of is that it is generally front-loaded and if you get through the early stuff and start to control the timer than you're going to be fine.

Pleasingly - after only one new game last year, I've managed a new one this year before January ended.
