No - fortunately not. We knew he posted things on occasion and wanted to empty it for the new people. I just hadn't realised all the things he had posted until I tipped it up and started pulling stuff out.

As it happens the fire is not coming with us when we move - it's part of the fixtures and fittings staying with the house.

But yes, a mix of Dr Seuss books, wax crayons and plastic toys might have banished those Autumn chills quite effectively...

Of course it was "Sam I Am". I am perilously close to reciting the whole thing... Although I think One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish is an underappreciated classic.
