If roleplaying was music...
Aug. 7th, 2002 03:29 pm...then Dungeons and Dragons would be Britney (or possibly Kylie).
Vampire the Masquerade is likely to be Queen.
Classical music would probably be the equivalent of murder mysteries.
Any one else have views ?

this is a good game

Toon would be The Go-Gos.
I have to say that, less cynically, I wouldn't call D&D Britney... I've got a lot of affection for it. I'd be more tempted to compare it to the Beatles. Overplayed, perhaps a bit tired, but part of the global consciousness.
Hehehe
But I also disagree with one of yours:
'Runequest' should be Queen because it's still considered pretty good many years after its release, nobody's done anything better since in the same style and it doesn't take itself too seriously (ducks anyone ?).
I think I'd cast Sisters of Mercy as Vampire on the basis that it's a major factor in modern goth culture but despite having a few great bits it's generally overrated. <grin>

V:tM is clearly Marilyn Manson if you don't like the game, and Nirvana if you do. Which means that Wraith must be Pearl Jam. Mage is a less talented version of David Bowie. Sepultura for Werewolf. And Changeling is an execrable pile of shite in any medium.
