Ryan has had his first hair cut. The hairdresser gave me a little bag of the first snip of curls (unrequested) which came home with me and will be put away somewhere (and possibly forgotten about, but hey!). He has no curls left (except for his eyelashes).

And as for Bea, yesterday she informed me that I wasn't a woman, but a mother. Hmm.

Has Bea not had the same hair cut, then? Don't force them into outmoded gender identities - shave Bea's head and grow Ryan's hair down to his little waist!

Were I a woman, I wouldn't be doing the stereotypes thing. However, as a mother, I know no other way.

Ryan's hair wanted a cut primarily because it was growing straight and had begun to look quite silly with baby curls only in the last inch.

I asked Bea if she wanted a haircut too, but she said she liked her hair.

Anyway, what do you mean "outmoded" ? It's coming back in dude. So far Bea has successfully reclaimed liking pink, being a ballerina and princesses for the feminist cause. Who knows what might come next ?!

Feminists aren't against any of those things! Or knitting.

Just so long as you let her have a buzz cut with rude word shaved in when she wants to, the lesbian mafia will leave you alone.

Thing Two has finally gotten used to people assuming he's a girl, since his hair is almost as long as Thing One's, and he's just so darned cute. Thing One has said she wants to cut her hair really short. If she goes through with it, I'll let you know how the experiment works.

Hmm indeed. I wonder whether the same logic would be applied to [livejournal.com profile] bateleur?

I.e., since [livejournal.com profile] bateleur clearly isn't a woman either, it follows that he must be a mother too!

Logic rules.

And indeed, mouse cheese is made from potato. Allegedly.

I'm not sure what I'm finding most troublesome with that statement.

I'll settle for asking "How do you milk a mouse?"

Using a potato peeler, obviously.

Ouch! At least I wasn't drinking anything when I read that.

Mother <> woman.
Mother == SuperWoman.

Or at least, that would be the flattering way to look at it.
