Another baby check, another problem
Jul. 25th, 2002 12:51 pmRyan and Bea went to the clinic for their 8 month/5 month check-up. Meaning that they were 5 months since their due date yesterday and will be 8 months from their birth date on Saturday.
Ryan
Weight - 7.63kg (16lb 13oz) : just above the 50th centile
Length - 65cm : just under the 50th centile
Head circumference - 44cm : just under the 75th centile
Ryan passed all his development milestone tests with flying colours, as usual.
Beatrice
Weight - 7.38kg (16lb 4oz) : between the 50th and the 75th centile
Length - 61.5cm : on the 9th centile
Head circumference - 45.3cm : on the 99.6th centile (!)
Bea didn't pass all her milestones, as usual. This time, apart from the ongoing stuff which we knew about, there is a slight question mark over whether her hips are in line. She will be going to another appointment with a doctor to check.

Date: 2002-07-25 10:20 am (UTC)It's a bit worrisome about Bea's hips, but I think she's already proved that she's a tough little sprout, so I don't expect it will slow her down much even if there is a problem. And I would like to point out that her godmother has abnormally short arms, too. Really. Had an ex who went to art school and knew all the "correct" human proportions... used to stare at me bemusedly and say "you're wrong". hasn't hampered me in life, and no one notices except for art students.
So hard to believe that those two little scraps are now 16lbs... thanks for doing conversions for the metrically impaired.
Love,
Nina
Wot no journal entries ?
Date: 2002-07-25 10:40 am (UTC)I should have guessed you might have a journal id !
Bea also has a parallelogram head; we're hoping that might disappear as she gets bigger as well. Never mind, clinic visits were invented to worry parents...
