Well, yesterday afternoon was a landmark in my life. I finally finished the first complete draft of the book I have been writing. Dom and I opened a bottle of wine to celebrate. I have just been upstairs word counting it and it is a satisfying 98,598 words. As the average book is 100,000 words (or so I have been told); this is a pretty good effort size-wise.
So what next ?
As far as this book goes it needs editing; the first quarter of it needs much re-writing and later sections also require changes. After that I'll probably print it out and bind a copy so that I have a "finished" book. Will it ever be publishable ? Possibly not. But it is mine.
In terms of my general writing skills; well I want to do a few short stories before I go back to editing my book-to-be. Also, I have a few plans to work on the Clans story. The latter is a play-by-mail game that I kept extensive records of and always meant to make a complete readable account of. Again, it isn't publishable; but it is a nice thing to have for more sentimental reasons.
Additionally, I have a few roleplaying plans. Primarily The Fallen Star which is a new thing that I am working on. A sort of murder-mystery email game.
My writing may never enter the public domain; but, right now, I really do not care.

Congratulations!

Though I'd love to read it when it's 'finished' :)
