Not much to say on today's window really.

The Wheel yesterday took a Cthuluoid turn when the three of us ([livejournal.com profile] cuthbertcross, [livejournal.com profile] dr_bob and myself) took on the scary huge octopus (squatting in a cinema) with a set of rather useless handguns. Looking good candidates for "first entire party death" (and, indeed, first player death) we took it out with an 02 followed by an 01 on percentile dice. However whilst I had some obscure stat changes (rises in Mictlan and Jangala) and some less obscure changes (a rise in Identity and a move further along from Peaceful to Warrior) my character is not a happy bunny as she's sliding from Enlightened to Insane at a fair rate of knots.

And when do other people put up their christmas decorations ([livejournal.com profile] venta need not answer, 'cos I remember that her family do it on Christmas Eve)?

As mentioned in my journal yesterday - [livejournal.com profile] cardinalsin and I put up our tree on the first weekend in December.

My yesterday's advent window (opened just now, cos my calendar is at work) revealed a picture of two actors on an ornate stage. I'll tell you today's when you post yours ;-)

As for Christmas decorations, we put ours up at the point we realise it's getting really close to Christmas and if we leave it any longer there won't be any trees left. Probably in a week or two.

Americans (at least in New Orleans) seem to think it's about right to put their outside decorations up either the day after Thanksgiving (so Friday 26th this year) or at the start of December. Later is acceptable, any earlier and you're in for some scorn - I saw only a couple of houses with anything up before Thanksgiving.

They were putting up the tree in Union Square in San Francisco the day before I left, so that was 12th of November. But they're a bit weird in San Francisco.

Inside decorations I don't know about, because I wasn't in anyone's home.

When living with my parents the Tree (and associated decorations) went up the weekend before christmas eve.

This was at least partly because a real tree was bought and if you got it any earlier it had no needles left by the 25th.

Chez [livejournal.com profile] wimble is general devoid of decorations because we can't be arsed and have too much clutter in the house already.

You miserable, unfestive lot!

Guilty as charged.

Got any humbugs?

I think it's mainly that we both tend to be elsewhere (decorated by someone else) for christmas so there's not much point in doing more than displaying the cards people have sent.
