My dad's after a book that would cover the practical aspects of copying music from audio analogue (vinyl or tape) to computer digital (.wav file), and the associated removal of unwanted sounds and errors and other "corrections". Additionally, he'd like it to cover explanations of the theoretical bases of the practical steps involved.

Does anyone know of anything suitable? Dad's not a programmer but he's science-trained and has a very good memory and understanding (his physics was better than mine back when I did A and S levels!).

Any help appreciated!
