Pond Dipping

This was being organised by my local Mother and Toddler group.
The idea : Give the twins each a net and a tray and let them fish small creatures out of Bedfont Lakes.
The reality :
"Ryan, sit down!"
*fishes other net out of the water and hands it back to Bea*
*get dripped on by Ryan's net and just missed being thwacked in the face with it*
"Ryan! SIT DOWN!"
*try and remove what I hope is only a Bakewell Tart from Bea's trouser leg (using baby wipes) without looking too closely at it*
*try to help Ryan with his netting attempts*
*let go of the net and hope Ryan stops screaming soon*
"Bea, put the net back in the water."
"Ryan, I said, SIT DOWN!"
*get pond water flicked in my face by Bea's net*
And repeat.
Actually, it was a lot of fun. With the possible exception of nappy-changing a screaming Ryan on a windy hillside.
