After the usual round of dreams, the party awoke to discuss their plans for dealing with the Fourth. Sigurne ([livejournal.com profile] ealuscerwen promptly left the rest for their discussion - an action to be repeated every time a relevant topic was raised. In this particular case she appeared justified; a group of assassins (two swordsmen and a mage) appeared and proceeded to attack our group. They were unsuccessful, mainly due to the unmagicked efforts of Andreas ([livejournal.com profile] onebyone) and Sable ([livejournal.com profile] frax).

Leosa spent a week teaching Sable how to defeat the Fourth so the rest of the group stayed in a quiet (uninhabited) area of Igan Duna. The Squire ([livejournal.com profile] smiorgan)and Andreas watched for other assassins whilst Imogen (me) learned to fight with a sabre, Katako ([livejournal.com profile] triskellian) gathered information, Ghol Samir (also [livejournal.com profile] smiorgan) wrote letters to Voaz and other contacts and Sigurne worked on a method of hiding the Mandala Key in a rune (it was placed in Ghol for safety - to be released by Imogen or Sigurne).

Sable told us that she needed two things. The first was for us to ensure that she faced the Fourth alone. This requirement led to a discussion which ended with the tentative joint belief that the Fourth was probably still in Prime and that the sooner she attacked the better as the traitor Mantar's army was in Esselring. However, her second requirement was to obtain a weapon that would cause sufficient damage to the enemy.

Ghol was confident that he could make a suitable weapon... given a forge and seven uninterrupted days. Katako asked the Bordermen, through one of her contacts, for the use of theirs. However, they were not keen to agree whilst their own army was absent. Instead of pushing the point the party decided to travel to Prime and hope that there was a suitable weapon in Oromendez' cache. Imogen explained that she was also keen to return there. She had dreamed of the cache and seen a room within it which connected to points all over Prime using (what appeared to be) the power of The Prisoner.

The journey northward was a difficult one as the party were attacked twice by minions of the Fourth. The first time the attackers were human Guardians and a Mage, the second time the attack was from a bound earth-elemental controlled through the eyes of a bird. The party won both fights but were concerned by the Fourth's ability to locate them in the wilderness.

However, the group entered Prime without incident and reached the cache inside Tie Akate with a minimum of magical assistance. Inside the cache Ghol inspected the weapons but concluded, sadly, that none were magical. Sigurne was overjoyed by the library and instantly borrowed a rare book.

After some searching Imogen found the small room of her dreams. Sigurne looked through the books of Walled Stone writing and discovered that some of them could be used to make it work. It showed her visions from around Prime, including within the chambers of the Parliament. A session was taking place, held unusually by a member of Merechus, to agree to the continuation of the war and to prevent further movement in and out of the Merechus sphere.
