More Cake Mummy !

lathanyToday was week three of the mother and toddler group (soon to be the "Thursday mother and toddler group" because I'm starting another one the Wednesday after next).
It was the birthday of one of the other children (a tall, blond three-year-old called Liam - I can remember most of the children's names, but none of the mothers') and a large number of little cakes had been brought in to celebrate. There were roughly two cakes per child (with some chocolate cake for us Mums) and most of the kids ate exactly two cakes (or rather, the icing-plus-sweet tops of two cakes).
Ryan had one, seemed to enjoy it (he ate it all), and then lost interest in the food table. Bea had one which she completely finished (once I'd rescued the paper bit) and then moved onto her second without hesitation. When she finished the second one, she went for a third. I stopped her, told her she couldn't have another and took her away from the table. The result ? She went back and turned those innocent-looking blue eyes on one of the other Mums. Of course she got her third one. The only reason she didn't snag a fourth from a different Mum is because her final attempt was distinctly half-hearted (I think she was full).
And I've picked up forms to apply for the nursery at the same school because I like the playgroup and what I've seen of the nursery and school. Some of the other children (whom I also like) are applying (including the other set of twins).
