Some plot in Buffy, but Angel didn't really go anywhere.
Get It Done
It was interesting to finally discover how the Chosen One was given the Slayer powers (demon-flavoured). Also to meet the shamen. Additionally, I felt relieved that the chief shaman could tell her something "new"; I was starting to think they would be completely useless. Now all the gang needs is a cement mixer, and that seal is closed. It was also a relief to see Willow return to the high magic levels (and about time - Get It Done is episode fifteen).
Principal Wood has now confirmed that Spike is the vampire he wants to kill (although, frankly, he was pretty sure last week); although, so far, all he's done is to watch Spike from dark doorways. The absence of Giles was made more obvious to me by the fact that Dawn appeared to have been given all his lines (she was reading what language ?!).
And, finally, I wasn't impressed with Buffy's rant. Yes, she's got it tough. But she, at least, went into Slayerhood with the usual supports and a few extras. Plus, when she has problems, everyone gets to know and has to sympathise (take the Parker affair, for example). Xander had a point (and a good line about sarcastic comments).
Release
Well, Connor could end up being assistant to the Big Bad at this rate. Not a great episode; Connor failing to notice Cordelia's time-outs, Wesley proving he can out-nasty Faith, Angelus talking to himself. The piece where Angelus comes for the book is good, as is the part where he takes Wesley hostage (saved by Gunn). Plus I notice that Lorne made it into the title sequence (then spent the episode asleep). However, apart from the "cliffhanger" ending, this was really a "holding" episode. But the spoiler stuff (in the end credits) for next week looks promising.
Other stuff ? Not much. Beatrice impressed her physiotherapist with her development (I stand, I cruise, I clap to order) whilst Ryan impressed me by not complaining too loudly about Beatrice's attention session. I'm mostly working on roleplaying characters and games right now (Midas character needs finalising today, Athory is on Sunday). Plus The Longest Journey is engrossing.
