This is the state of my train line:

"A number of significant issues have affected our services on Windsor-side routes this afternoon, and services remain heavily disrupted. These incidents include:

- a broken down train at Putney
- a points failure at Barnes
- a failure of the National Grid power supply affecting our signalling and customer information systems
- a points failure at Windsor and Eton Riverside

Services are running up to 60 minutes late, but the failure of the National Grid power supply means that our signallers, staff, and control centre are unable to use our normal software to identify where trains are located on the network. Signallers are still able to identify where trains are located, but may need to run trains more slowly than normal. Drivers may also need to stop their train at signals and get verbal permission to pass once the signaller has confirmed the track ahead is clear."

Except... I'm at home because I had an event elsewhere in London this afternoon and decided to come home earlier as I was working from home tomorrow and could make up any time then.

Consequently the train I caught was only twelve minutes late when I reached Ashford.

Best Decision Ever.

Oh, and I love the bit about how they don't know where the trains are...

Do you think they're trying to write a song?

Three broken trains, two failed points, and an info system that is out of its (pear) tree...

That's a remarkable list of issues! Glad you weren't affected too much.
