Date: 2008-12-18 09:45 pm (UTC)I still remember her as a teeny kitten. Such a cute little ball of fluff.
How are the twins coping?

Date: 2008-12-18 09:48 pm (UTC)Ryan won't get it until she's not around for long enough; but I think he'll accept it.
Bea was upset and will probably be upset again - she loved the Ems. But, in some ways, she's a wise little sweetheart and she's talked about pretending how Ems is in the next room rather than completely gone.

Date: 2008-12-18 10:23 pm (UTC)If we get another cat at some future point, it will be because we want and choose a cat; it won't be as Ems II - The Sticking Plaster. Also, having had Ems from a very early stage in our relationship, we want to have a period of time adjusting to life without a cat now.

Date: 2008-12-20 08:08 pm (UTC)(and just in case you do think book for the kids, I recommend taking a look at Badger's Parting Gifts - it's a very good book with nice illustrations about how when Badger dies, all his friends are sad, and then they remember all the good things he has shown them. It's a nice calming book that *doesn't* end with a replacement badger - I am thinking about getting one for when my two need that sort of thing. )
