OK - these last few windows are more on the Xmassy track.

I received my Open University course mark today. Turns out that the exam was much worse than I had thought, but that everyone else also did very poorly. So, despite receiving a (lowish) pass 2 mark for the exam, I have a distinction (something about grade boundaries changing at the discretion of the examiners, etc)!

I worked from home today, which was fine and I'll definitely be well enough to go in tomorrow (fingers crossed).

Why are sheep Christmas-y?

Oh, I figured it out. The angels coming down to announce the birth to the shepherds.

It wasn't a great paper, which was some of the problem.

And many thanks!

That was my guess too.

I've long been curious about that, as I suspect that even in Palestine the weather would be a tad brisk to be grazing sheep in the open overnight in the middle of December. Maybe a signal of Christ's birthday having moved from a balmier tme of year.

I think I've heard that argument before, although I do wonder, how much do the sheep really care?

Who can say: sheep are pretty inscrutable creatures.

That's one of those words, like "nonchalant" or "nonplussed" that people almost never use without the prefix.

I would imagine that as long as they haven't been recently sheared, the sheep probably don't care much. They've got all that nice wool to keep them warm!

Your challenge: use all three without their prefixes today, in conversation.

I'll get back to you on how well I do. And what kinds of funny looks I get.;-)

*confetti*

no matter how well or badly you did on an absolute scale, you have the incomparable comfort of being better than everyone else!
