Orphan Black
Nov. 17th, 2015 06:04 pmWe finished the first season of Orphan Black recently. Ten episodes and I'm struggling to say anything that isn't a spoiler.
Hmmm.
Well, it's modern day with a sci-fi(ish) twist (Wikipedia describes it as Canadian science fiction). It's interesting and well-acted. The full season (10 episodes) did address some of the things it raised, but most went unanswered or became more complicated (so a bit of an improvement on The Returned but I like more resolution in my TV seasons generally). Oh, and I really liked much of the main cast - particularly the lead.
The main concept - meeting a duplicate of yourself is really well done. I liked Sarah's attempts to pretend to be Beth and the contrasts between Sarah and Beth. I also liked Felix and Art (and, later on, Mrs S). I found that the series managed to progress and make things happen - with the exception of episode six which is a bit of a farce (in both senses). I now want to see the second season.
