A Surprise Phone Call
May. 4th, 2004 08:41 amThis morning I was trying to ring the doctor's surgery to cancel Bea's follow-up appointment (made before she went into the hospital). After ten minutes of intermittent attempts (I didn't want to talk to the answer phone), they rang me.
How was Beatrice? I explained and the receptionist (who had seen her and heard the cough on Thursday morning) sounded relieved and pleased.
It was nice. Not just the obvious concern, but because it was above and beyond what I expect from my local surgery.
