End of The Diet
Oct. 9th, 2002 12:48 pmAfter several months of dieting, the end had been in sight. There were a few hitches as I tried to get rid of the last couple of pounds (celebratory meals to celebrate tenth anniversaries), but I was confident I would hit my target (pre-pregnancy) weight by the end of the month.
I had reckoned without my food poisoning/stomach infection/horrible thing illness.
Consequently, this morning I am a pound under my target weight, so the diet has been declared officially over.
It is not how I planned to finish, at all. However, I have hit (and passed) the target and most of it (the first nineteen pounds of twenty-two) was done through the old-fashioned approach of cutting-back-of-nice-foods. I now feel like I should celebrate. Buy myself something, perhaps (but not edible - my stomach is still wobbling).
And I'll see if I can re-locate my jeans.
