Velcro Paws

I was sitting in front of the computer when Emily came in and decided she wanted a lap. She jumped up and balanced for a few moments before settling herself down. Unfortunately for her, I wanted to go upstairs and get dressed so I stood up to throw her off.

Emily was not going to be put off. She continued to cling on to my dressing gown whilst mountaineering her way upwards until she had suck both sets of claws into my shoulder. I put an arm around her stomach to lower her down and she gripped both back paws around it.

Eventually I staggered towards her bowl, rather hampered and unbalanced by the additional passenger. When I had convinced her that food was imminent she finally let go.

I think she's had enough of the twins hogging the hugs and attention...

The secret to non-exhausting motherhood is...

... to separate the "I want to play" cries from the "I want to sleep, but I could always be persuaded to play instead" cries.

These come when the sprogs have been left downstairs on their playmat for a while.

Occasionally, when both babies are downstairs, Bea has "Ryan kicked me in the face in his efforts to roll over" cries as well.
