The Tarot series is, sadly, discontinued and therefore is not described on the BPAL site.
Justice
A review1 I found reads: "Goes on sticky-sweet with a fizzy sort of undertone, and quickly backs down into a barely herbal, warm and woody blend that retains some sense of the effervescence without it actually being a defineable note.
A hint of moss, plenty of rosewood, and maybe a touch of amber? Solid like a huge old oak with new leaves coming out in spring, and very balanced."
Another one says: "Amber? Rosewood? Orange blossom? This is a bright, effervescent orange scent. Very nice. I can picture beautiful Lady Justice in her flowing, white linen robes holding the golden scales aloft in one strong hand. Incredible work."
In the bottle: Eww. This reminds me of my grandparents flat which always stank of stale cigarettes.
On the skin: More eww. However,
bateleur thinks it's overwhelmingly floral. Actually, that's probably why it reminds me of the flat, I think my gran used to wear very floral scents. Although I'm not sure why flowers are linked to Justice.
An hour later: It's not so bad on the fading, it's now all floral and no cigarettes (which I suspect is also because I've shifted my mental perceptions), but still not for me.
The Hermit
A review1 I found reads: "This scent is wonderful. I wish I could know what notes are in it. It is in turns spicy, sweet, warm, but not intrusive at all. I have tried several other scents and noticed that it took some time for me to get used to them, but with Hermit it was perfect from the moment I put it on.
It smells a bit like carnations, but not as clovey, but with a sweet base that isn't sickly sweet or foody at all. There is a herbal undertone to this as well, it's almost like Hyssop or something. It lasted the whole day on me, and never once did it make my eyes or face feel itchy or my nose feel cloggy (my problem with department store perfumes)."
Another one says: "A quiet, verdant scent, The Hermit is. It’s pungent in the manner of plants (and the air around these plants) after a rainstorm. The plants are a mystery to me--strange flora that hasn’t yet been categorized. Something is also lurking beneath the surface, a darkness. Hermits aren’t necessarily benevolent, and many can be menacing after all those years of living only with their thoughts. The woods are lovely dark and deep, this imp I’ll definitely keep."
In the bottle: Not bad, some flowers, some... amber I think.
On the skin: More of the same.
bateleur likes this one.
An hour later: This is nice, but a little too faint for me.
1 Note: I tend to put BPAL on before I hunt reviews.
