BPAL - The Chariot 5/10

Note: I tend to put BPAL on before I hunt reviews.
From the site (Tarot): Sadly, this is discontinued and therefore is not described on the site.
However a review I found reads: "I get herbs, anise and bamboo (or some other light woody note) from The Chariot, which dries down to a sweet woody finish. Not really for me."
Another one says: "It's ever-so-slightly boozy bubblegum in the imp, going to red children's cough syrup on my skin. Erk."
In the bottle: Yet more bubble gum? Why do I keep thinking these smell of bubblegum?
On the skin:
bateleur says aniseed and I agree. In fact, reading the first review (above) having sniffed it, I'd say it's right on. The problem is that I loathe aniseed. Having now read the second review - I don't agree with the cough syrup but I'm pleased I'm not imagining the bubble gum (or not alone, anyway!)
An hour later: Slightly more herbs and possibly the promised "sweet woody finish", which is an improvement, but it's still not my thing.
