Today Ryan failed to molest the Xmas tree. Perhaps he's ill. Or perhaps it's because he was out for most of the morning at Mother and Toddler group. Or perhaps he's trying to give me a false sense of security so that I put the four delicate decorations back on it. We'll see.
In other news, having got over the joy of speaking to![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
chrestomancy on the phone earlier this week, I realise that I really, really miss him. For as far back as I can remember, he's always been around. He went to the same sixth form and the same university (although, because of the three year age gap, not at the same time). He used to come up from Cambridge and visit me when I was in hall (I remember him and dr_bob sleeping on my tiny bedroom floor once), he used to come down from Nottingham to visit me when I lived in London. We both moved to Oxford at the same time. We moved to the London/Oxford weekend commute at pretty much the same time. And then we moved to West London, again, at more or less the same time. Whenever I've been upset or cross or bursting with some good news I've been able to ring up or pop around and see him. Now he's on the other side of the Atlantic, I can't. And, with their plans to stay out of the country until October, I'm going to have to get used to it.
