We'll it's a line of three things obviously tied at the top against a green background. Two of them are red and yellow circles and the last is a long, orange triangle. What it actually looks like is two balloons and an oversized carrot. But I guess it must be three balloons. Or maybe three tree decorations. Hmm.

Yesterday saw the writing of the first Christmas card. It's going to Hong Kong, so I need to take it to the post office soon. It also saw actual progress on Empty-handed and the unpacking of the children's clothes (put off because I needed to create a bit of extra space for the new things). Plus I got to hear the edited highlights of the Tao Christmas Party (although I haven't seen the T-shirt yet) and I guessed they would use "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single young man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife".

Today at playgroup I got given some raffle tickets to sell (four at a pound each). These are to cover a children's entertainer and presents for their party. Their party is on Thursday 16th December. This brings up a tricky problem - do I take them to the Christmas party (which I can either pay for as an extra session or swap one of my existing days for) or do I take them to Mother and Toddler group which also has a Christmas party on that day (although it won't have an entertainer or presents, just fancy dress and food)? Something to decide, I guess.

I have a sort of ornate glass vase thingie. Reasonably Venetian, not terribly exciting. But this afternoon I get to open another window (for tomorrow), so I'm hoping that one will be better ;-)

Unexpectedly, I have a fox. I didn't think the Bible was big on foxes - but a minute with an online concordance suggests otherwise. So maybe I was too quick yesterday to disparage the fox at the crib scene.

From the Song of Solomon:

Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

(Of course, if you'd like me to stop clogging up your journal with wittering about my calendar and bible quotes, do feel free to say so :)

Take us the foxes

Is that the biblical equivalent of "All your base are belong to us" ?

Actually I'm really enjoying the advent window exchange programme ;-)

My window for tomorrow is another winged lion, a statue on the top of a column this time. I think it's St Mark's column at the entrance to his piazza.
