triskellian!). A reminder to finish that Christmas shopping ASAP (it's only a few edible stocking fillers that are left to buy) and to start thinking about some Christmassy stamps for my hoard of glittery cards.
It is also the end of November and thus the end of my writing challenge to myself (write twenty thousand words of Empty-handed in thirty days) which I completed by the skin of my teeth. This has the nice side-effect of implying that finishing in January/February is perfectly do-able.
Plus it is the day I declare my twinless decorating efforts complete (ie. I've just removed the last of the masking tape), so I've been gazing around the hall thoughtfully. It's not brilliant. I'd much have preferred to have done the entire two floors of hall. However I didn't have the tools, the balance or the required time to manage that, so this will have to do. The combination of paint and wallpaper looks a little weird, but the painted walls look better than I expected when I first took off the old paper and thus unearthed the horrors beneath.
The twins are home, happy and present overloaded. Beatrice came back looking well-fed (she ate Granny Jo out of fresh fruit and cottage cheese!!!) and acting rather clingy (for about the first time in her life) and Ryan came back with a big grin and a few more words in his vocabulary. Of course, whilst their birthdays were Sunday, they've celebrated them again on Tuesday (singing, cards and sweets at playgroup), today (birthday cake number three - chocolate "Happy Birthday" cake - with a party at the Mother and Toddler group) and will again tomorrow (birthday cake number four - chocolate caterpillar - with a party at the other Mother and Toddler group). And, yes, we have a birthday cake surplus (although, not as big as you might expect... burp!).
After a rather patchy year, I'm planning to write an entry every day from now until Christmas Eve. Place your bets as to just how far I'll get...
